We believe that the students construct new knowledge on top of their prior knowledge, therefore, it is very essential for the teacher to access the prior knowledge of the students before introducing any new concept. Based on this belief, our teachers engage the students using the 7E learning cycle model where students are made to; Elicit, Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate, and Extend, in the course of their learning process. The school was officially opened by H.E. EVARISTE NDAYISHIMIYE, the President of the Republic of Burundi on the 12TH NOVEMBER, 2022 in a colourful ceremony held at the school premises. Green hills International college is fully licensed by the ministry of education of Burundi.

As the deputy president of the prefectorial body, my experience at GHIC has been quite outstanding. I was a bit uneasy when I first joined the school, I thought adapting to the new environment would be overwhelming but thank you to our amiable faculty and other staff members I was able to adjust accordingly and thrive in the Green Hills International College culture.
Academically, the school provides a serene learning environment which in return brews excellence for serious learners. I have been able to acquire high credit scores and life long skills as per the training received. The faculty is very supportive, cordial, diverse and experienced with different types of learners. While in GHIC, I never felt any gaps for the school addresses all round learner issues.
The boarding experience in GHIC is one of the best in the country. We are cared for by the best nurses and care givers. Standard meals are provided by skillful chefs and we really get to enjoy life outside the classrooms. Occasionally, the school organizes events to show case our talents and abilities; From talent shows to cultural days and sports day. Showcasing our talents is one of the most enjoyable things about schooling at GHIC. In addition to such events, we also participate in international academic programs like the World Scholars Cup, Martin Luther King Jr Poetry Contests, Math contests among others.

I have served in the prefectorial body as the President academic year 2023/2024. My experience in Green Hills International College has been splendid. My leadership skills were realized and I was mentored by the administrators, faculty and other staff members and with their assistance I believe I propelled the prefectsˊ body in the right direction.
I would advise any learner looking for exposure and resourceful learning to join GHIC. The school has a team of amiable and supportive staff who engage in both academic and non-academic endeavors. The K 12 curriculum offered by the school realizes the potentials of different learners and nurtures them accordingly. In the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 the school has registered 100% pass rates of the registered candidates. The successful instructional methods are effected by the well-established resources like labs (science and ICT), library and use of information communication technology.
The school has been a trailblazer when it comes to sports. Learners have been training and participating in different sports to the National levels. These include; athletics, football, basketball, netball, volleyball just to mention but a few.

School is a place to study, settle and to enjoy too as they say work without play makes tom a dull boy when I came to Green Hills International College, I realized that I found a school and home. I found a place to make my pen mightier than a sword.
As a candidate I have had privileges of finding a school that provides quality education that is satisfying with great teachers and practices that enable us to understand what we study to the fullest.
We enjoy games such as football, basketball, (netball girls) and table tennis we are not only chasing books and marks but we shape our future in all different areas. We also have clubs that have enabled us as students to know what we are good at and know what to chase after in life. It has enabled us to gain much confidence.
And as the Head boy of Green Hills International college, I have for once been given an opportunity to be a leader which gives a picture of being future leaders giving me skills of leadership, self-reliance and responsibility finding such a place is finding a treasure because it’s a thing not bought but achieved.
